Hello Everyone:

LMWD has had issues with its own Pressure Reducing Valves on the water system.  The District is aware of ongoing water pressure issues and is coordinating with the Operator and Engineer to address them.

Please continue to update the District office as to any new issues in the meantime.  We apologize for these problems and we are pushing to get repairs done.  As updated and reliable information becomes available, it will be posted on our website as well as Nextdoor.

Please note that it is a requirement for all taps on the system to have a Pressure Reducing Valve installed to protect your home in case of spikes in water pressure.  It’s part of the code requirements and should have been installed when your home was built.  You will notice many of your neighbors on the system are not having any issues.  If your Pressure Reducing Valve is installed and working properly, it reduces the water pressure inside your homes water lines and water heater.  If you are experiencing leaks caused by high water pressure, please check with your plumber to ensure that:

1) you have a Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) installed,

2) the PRV is sufficient for the application and hasn’t failed,

3) the PRV is set correctly.

If the Pressure Relief Valve on your water heater is leaking, it may simply be doing what it is designed to do.  It doesn’t necessarily mean that your water heater is faulty.

Again, we apologize for the high water pressure issues and we are working to get them addressed.
